When using the web app, users are informed that NO personal data or data that could be linked to the user is processed, including through the use of cookies.
BROWSING DATA
The IT systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some data in an anonymous form, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects and cannot be used to identify users, even when combined with data held by third parties.
This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who connect to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response from the server (success, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and IT environment.
These data are used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information about the use of the site and to check its correct functioning.
The data may be used to ascertain responsibility in case of hypothetical cybercrimes against the site.
Specifically, the following anonymous and aggregated data are involved:
– Selected language,
– Consumed content,
– Usage time.
The museum may also access the same data for statistical purposes.
COOKIE MANAGEMENT
COOKIE
Cookies are small text strings that websites visited by the user send to their device, where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit by the same user. During navigation, the user may also receive cookies sent from different web pages (see Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of May 8, 2014, no. 229).
To properly regulate these devices, it is necessary to distinguish them based on the purposes pursued by those who use them.
TECHNICAL COOKIES
Technical cookies are used solely to "transmit a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service" (see Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code and Provision no. 229/2014).
They may consist of navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (e.g., enabling a purchase or authentication to access restricted areas).
No prior consent from users is required for the installation of such cookies.
PROFILING COOKIES
Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with preferences expressed while browsing the web.
Due to their invasive nature, users are required to give prior consent for their installation, as provided by Art. 122 of the Code.
ANALYTICAL COOKIES
These cookies are used to monitor the use of the website by users, providing statistical reports that can help the site publisher optimize it. One of the most commonly used tools for web analysis is "Matomo," a service through which browsing statistics can be collected. The Guarantor Authority has clarified that these cookies fall under technical cookies when the IP address is anonymized (even partially) and information sharing is eliminated. Otherwise, these cookies are associated with profiling cookies.
The company has also taken steps to partially anonymize the user's IP address and reduce the data accessible to Matomo through its tools.
Each type of cookie can be either first-party (i.e., processed and managed directly by the website owner) or third-party (when installed and acquired from different subjects).
Here are the cookies used by our site:
– Strictly necessary cookies
– Statistical cookies
– Experience cookies
– Security cookies
